How to collect your hay samples

Consistency is key!

A representative sample usually consists of about 20 core samples from a lot however, this may vary depending on the size of the lot to be tested.

Collect the sample in an airtight plastic bag (i.e. Ziploc).

Paper bags will absorb moisture from your sample, thus altering the final results.

Heat may cause condensation which will also alter the final results. To ensure this does not happen, keep your sample in a cool, dark place until it is ready to be sent.

Properly label your sample and ship it to the lab.

Print out our ID tags and send one in with each sample.

Equine tests must be specifically labeled.

The equine test is for grasses only!
